Communication with Families

We value the opportunity to communicate with the school community.

As a school we have high expectations of parents and students. We believe that we are working in partnership with families to provide a quality education for students.

As a means of working with families we:

  • Publish regular newsletters (issued every 3 weeks)
  • Hold parent/teacher meetings
  • Host subject selection talks at key junctures of
    schooling
  • Host tertiary entrance evenings
  • Have an active P&C that meets on the second Wednesday of the month
  • Have School Council meetings each term
  • Encourage parents to telephone teachers with any concerns
  • Expect that students “Redbooks”, the student diary, is used effectively
  • Encourage teachers to contact families when concerns arise
  • Issue formal reports at the end of semester one and two
  • Issue a mid-semester 1 report to indicate to parents how students are settling into a new year of study
  • Invite parents and the school community to the many events that are offered in the school e.g. debating, musical performance, sporting carnivals, dance performances etc
  • Contact families when students are absent from school
  • Write to families when concerns arise over uniform issues and punctuality
  • Telephone parents seeking support with behaviour management issues

Regular attendance at school is vital to your students’ success at school.
